October 5, 2026 - Dr Opesanmi was tasked with the role of speaker at official press conference marking the historic recognition for the Nigerian American community in Washington, DC. Mayor Muriel Bowser proclaimed October 2026 as Nigerian American Heritage Month in Washington, DC, recognizing the history, culture, and invaluable contributions of Nigerian Americans to the District and the nation. The event was organized by Nigerian Center Washington DC. We are proud to celebrate this milestone and the vibrant Nigerian American community that continues to enrich Washington, DC. ❤️💚
